Urgent Message!

We have received several calls today asking why we have changed our Online Banking login process to include entering Debit/Credit Card Numbers, Security Codes, ATM Pins, etc. The short answer to this question is that we have not changed the login process and would never require our members to enter this type of personal information in order to access Online Banking. If you encounter this type of login box, then you are likely infected with a nasty Trojan virus called “Zeus” (also known as Infostealer.Banker).

Just to clarify: L&N Federal Credit Union’s Online Banking is NOT infected with any viruses; this virus is on the member’s home computer. This virus is also NOT exclusive to L&N; it affects ALL financial institutions that provide an Online Banking product.

It is critical that you do not submit any personal information through this fake login window. Doing so may result in thieves wiping out your accounts and attempting to steal your identity. There are two steps that must be taken before attempting to log back into Online Banking:

1. The infected computer must be cleaned of the virus by using Anti-Virus software with updated virus definitions. If you do not have Anti-Virus software, then there are several good free programs available online for download.

2. The Online Banking password must be reset as well. This must be done from a computer that has already been cleaned of the virus (if not, then the virus will just steal the new information.)

Here is what the member will see if they are infected by Zeus Trojan and attempt to login to our Home Banking platform:

If you see this message on your computer, DO NOT CLICK ANYTHING! Contact the call center immediately at (502) 368-5858 to reset your password (after the virus has been removed by anti-virus software) before logging in to Online Banking again. If you fail to remove the virus, your account will be compromised again.
